Liability for content

The content of this application is prepared with care. No warranty is given as to its accuracy, completeness or currency.

That applies to the language data in particular: dictionary entries, example sentences, transliterations and pronunciations come from open sources or were generated by machine. They are a learning aid, not a substitute for teaching or for a translation made by a person.

Content that users create themselves — their own words, notes, recordings, messages — is their responsibility.

Liability for links

Where this application links to other websites, their content is outside our control. Responsibility for it rests solely with the operators of those sites.

Copyright and sources

The program code, the design and our own texts belong to PulsarSol GmbH.

The language data comes from open sources and is used under their licences: dictionary entries from Wiktionary extracts (kaikki.org) and WikDict under CC BY-SA 4.0 or GFDL; frequency ranks from hermitdave/FrequencyWords under CC BY-SA 4.0; example sentences in English, German, French and Italian from Tatoeba under CC BY 2.0 FR, with the author named for each sentence.

The Khmer practice sentences were generated with a language model from our own Khmer basic vocabulary and checked by a native speaker of Khmer; each sentence names the model.

The icons are from the Lucide set (ISC licence). The Khmer transliteration follows the United Nations UNGEGN standard of 1972, in our own implementation.

The pronunciations were produced with Azure Neural TTS under the corresponding usage rights.
